2 olyRRFM's this weekend!

Hey all,

we will be having our usual 2 RRFM's this weekend (every 2nd and 4th weekend of the month). Sat. 8/13/11 at Woodruff Park and Sun 8/14/11 at Bigelow Park. 11-4pm both days. We donated all of our clothes to Books for Prisoners last time, so we need stuff. Please spread the word and we hope to see you there! C'mon, hanging out in the park, eating free food, getting free stuff, getting rid of clutter, playing games, meeting your community, hanging with friends... what more could ya ask for? :)

P.S. TRUCK NEEDED FOR SAT. to bring stuff to the park at about 10:45 and to help clean up at 4ish. Can you help with either of these essential tasks? We'll give you a coupon for half off your entire purchase, no contract required!

Saturday RRFM Location Change

ACT! Social Justice Fair has moved! The new location is 9th Ave, between Franklin and Adams St, (between the Olympia Library and the Fertile Ground Guesthouse). We apologize for this late change and any inconvenience that it may have caused! No less than 20 local organizations have signed up so far, and will table and plug their current projects! Also, confirmed live local music from Danny Kelly, as well as Richard Lopez & Friends (Richard will also talk about his recent experience aboard the US Boat to Gaza!). And if that wasn't enough, The Really, Really Free Market is now part of the Fair and will happen at the same time.

Hey all, this Saturday (July 16) we will be having a special RRFM at Sylvester Park as part of the ACT Social Justice Fair. We will be there from 12-3pm, hope you can make it.

As always, anything you can bring to give away is appreciated, but is not necessary.

Really Really Free Market at the Fair Budget Fair this Weekend

We are having our first ever indoor RRFM this Sat and Sun from 11 till 6. It will be in the Eagles Hall basement. Please come if you can and bring some friends. Recap: Saturday's Really Really Free Market

Thank you everyone for coming out to yesterday's really really free market! The weather was beautiful, but even more satisfying was seeing people come together to share their time, company, talents, and stuff.  We should have details regarding the next really really free market later this week.

Regarding the confusion with the Wooden Boat Fair, we would like to thank all of you and all of our supporters for your understanding, support, and help in transitioning the move from the park to the back entrance of the Olympia Center. We did contact the Wooden Boat Fair, clearly stating our intentions on occupying that small corner of the park and asked them to let us know if that would be problematic. We did not expect that level of confrontation, but out of such situations serious concerns on the meaning of public space arise. It was gratifying to see everyone band together and defend our rights as taxpayers to use the very space we have payed for and designated as public. We would also like to thank the Peoples' Movement Assembly for being so gracious to host the RRFM outside their space. All though the new venue was not as ideal as the park, it all worked out rather well.

First Really Really Free Market of the Season - May 8th

Come one, come all to the first Olympia area really really free market of the season! Tell your neighbors, friends and family that this is the place for finding new treasures, finding a new home for no longer needed items and *gasp* socializing with fellow members of our community. This event will be taking place at The Olympia Center in conjunction with the Peoples Movement Assembly.

Sunday September 27th from 11 am to 3 pm at Sylvester Park.

Bring books, clothes, furniture, music, skills, and anything else you want to share with folks in the community. Bring something for the potluck if you want, old (usable!) stuff from your garage, or just come and hang out.

About The Really Really Free Market:

We are offering an alternative to the over-consumption which dominates our society. However, we seek to include community members from all walks of life, running from conservatives to liberals to Christians to anarchists and every race and class in between. We will share extra items, food, music, games, and anything else people want to do. This event requires a strong community turnout in order to succeed. Items are to be given to those who need them, food to those who want some, and games and music can be shared by all. Please bring something to contribute, and if you can't, please come anyway and bring your friends.

Help us build a strong community in Olympia and have fun doing it!!!
